Miss Garland - Headteacher

Caroline Garland FINAL(5)

I’m thrilled to be the new head teacher of Catsfield C of E Primary School. My teaching career now stretches over twenty three years and have worked in many schools both as a teacher and a teaching and learning consultant of East Sussex and Lancashire. I’m passionate about all our pupils reaching their full potential as they start out on their journey to achieve their dreams. I know our school is a wonderful place to start out as a young learner with a very supportive community around us.

I love a good book, moto gp and spending time in my garden. If you’re really unlucky you might spot me trying to keep fit running through the village.

Mrs Fernandes -Deputy Headteacher

Faye Fernandes(2)

Since qualifying as a teacher in 2003 I have worn a few different hats over the years! I have taught reception, year 1 and year 2 as well as being a SENCO.  Here at Catsfield I teach Tigers four days a week, I am also the Deputy head and SENCO.

There is never a dull moment teaching reception children and I love it! I feel very lucky to be getting to know our children and families right from the start of their time at Catsfield.

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my own children on the seafront, in the woods or snuggling up on the sofa!

Mrs Noakes - Reception

Michelle(14)

I have been teaching for over 12 years now (I’m not sure where time goes!!). I have worked 1 day a week with the EYFS class for nearly 5 years now.  I love it here, the children are absolute stars and the staff are great fun too. It’s amazing watching the youngest children develop and bloom. When I’m not at school, I get to be a Mum and have great fun looking after my two children and our crazy family dog.

Mrs Maynard - Year 1/2

Eve Maynard(1)

This is my sixth year at Catsfield and I have loved every minute. During my time here I became a Mummy and I now share my teaching time; working in Lions on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Outside of school I enjoy spending my time with friends and family. I also enjoy keeping active and walking my dog. Recently, I have taken up running and have started to enter local events.

Mrs Briley - Year 1/2

Alice Briley(1)

From the moment I started primary school I knew I wanted to be a teacher, at first a music teacher, then a ballet teacher and finally settled on being a primary teacher. I have now been teaching for 12 years and can honestly say I have loved every minute of it. Before starting at Catsfield I worked in London for 6 years.

When I’m not in school nothing gives me greater pleasure than spending time with my family and my excitable dog. I love going to the theatre (although I don’t get to go as often as I’d like) and recently I have begun to find my green fingers.

Mrs Downes - Year 3/4

Tas Downes(2)

I’ve been a primary school teacher for nearly 12 years and have loved every minute of it. The icing on the cake is being lucky enough to work at Catsfield Primary school! Every day is full of surprises and I love watching the children flourish and grow into amazing learners.

Most of my time outside of school is taken up with my two energetic boys. We love to bake together, discover new places to visit and explore, have home movie nights (with popcorn of course) and going for long countryside walks. If I have any spare time, I’m usually found with my head in a book or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Miss Bedford-Turner - Year 5/6

Kathryn Bedford-Turner(1)

As a child, I never planned on being a teacher! However, I am now in my sixth year of teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else. My favourite subjects to teach are Literacy and Science and the best part of my job is seeing the children every day.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking a meal for us all to share. I also enjoy walking as it gets me out in the fresh air and keeps me fit. I have completed the Beachy Head Marathon twice and hope to do it again next year. Recently, I also tried Kayaking and think that it could be a new hobby for me to pursue…….

Miss White - Year 5/6

Ellen White(1)

I am very much looking forward to starting my teacher training here at Catsfield. Having enjoyed working here last year as a Teaching Assistant so much, it was a big part of my passion for becoming a teacher.

Outside of school I enjoy an active lifestyle, spending time with my family and friends and supporting my beloved rugby team, WASPS!
