Welcome to Reception at Catsfield CEP

Our meetings for parents and carers interested in their children registering to start at Catsfield September 2022 are now complete.

We are very sorry but sadly we are currently not taking tours of the school due to Covid 19.

We hope to provide tours in the latter half of the Spring term.

If you have any questions about your child attending her at catsfield please call the school office on 01424 892247

or email office@catsfieldcep.e-sussex.sch.uk

Our Head pupils would like to take you on a tour of our school and tell you why they think

Catsfield CEP is a great place to learn and grow.

A welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Prospective Parents and Carers,

Choosing the right school for your child can be a big decision. You may have a choice of several schools near to where you live and so you will want to find out as much as you can about all of them so you can make the right choice when you apply.

On this page there are two videos that can help you gain a flavour of our school. They are well worth watching.

If you have any further questions that we haven't yet answered please do give us a call.

Miss Caroline Garland

Headteacher

Meet Mrs Harwood- Tigers Class Teacher

Mrs Harwood is our Tigers Class teacher. She is currently on maternity leave and expected to return to teach Early Tears in September 2022. This is our transition video which gives you a good idea of what to expect when your child attends here at Catsfield.

When must I apply by?

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, then they are due to start primary school in September 2022. Don’t miss the deadline on 15 January 2022If you miss the deadline you are much less likely to get the school you want.

You can find out more information on the East Sussex County Council Website here:

Transition for Early Years Children

After Easter 2022 we plan to begin our arrangements for your child to begin transition in to their first class.

You and your child can start by attending some 'pop in and play' sessions on some afternoons. This gives them and you a chance to become familiar with the classroom inside and outside and spend time with the classteacher.

We invite everyone who will be attending in September to come together on the school field for some activites during a June morning. This is a lovely time for parents and carers to meet too. The chidlren can play together and know you are nearby for reassurance.

In late June and in to July we plan some afternoon sessions for more 'pop in and play' and one or two occassions for you to leave them with us for a short time. These sessions are planned in very small groups and last for about 1 hour.

We find all these opportunities help your child to settle in to their new class and get to know their teacher and teaching assistant well before they start in September.

Great transition leads to fantastic starts!
